Talk of a sequel to Love Jones have been in the air for some time now, though nothing concrete has developed thus far; and whether director Theodore Witcher, who, as his words suggest, became somewhat disillusioned with the industry and seemed to walk away from it, will even want to make a sequel is another uncertainty.

I haven't watched it yet (it aired this evening) - the season finale of AMC's hit zombie drama series The Walking Dead, one of the few shows on TV that I actually watch religiously; after the show, on AMC's Walking Dead talk show, Talking Dead, the series' executive producer, Robert Kirkman, revealed some casting news that I know a lot of you folks have been anxious for, if past posts on the series are any indication.

Spending my Sunday morning digging through the treasure trove of content that is YouTube, I stumbled upon this great conversation between Spike Lee and Denzel Washington from 2008, in which they reminisce on the 4 projects they'd worked together on as director and actor, and more... including the lack of black executives at the studio level with greelight power, Denzel realizing that his stock was starting to drop (interesting that he saw this even back then) and his desire to quit acting and strictly direct (maybe all this explains some of the the uninspired projects he's been taking on lately; maybe, as I suggested previously, he's just not getting the scripts that we think he's getting).

Like all of you, I was very happy when it was announced that Tulane professor, writer, social and cultural critic and media pundit Melissa Harris-Perry, after paying her dues and showing she's got the right stuff with her regular appearances on MSNBC (even acting as a substitute host on several shows), was getting her own morning weekend show on the network. Here was a smart, intelligent (and let's be honest, very cute) sister getting a chance to dazzle everyone with her knowledge and intelligence, joining Tamron Hall's daily afternoon show on the network.

Yes I know that's a photo of the cast from the 21 Jump Street TV show; but when I hear the words 21 Jump Street I will always think of Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson-Peete, not Jonah Hill and that tool Channing Whateverhisnameis who has as much charisma and personality as a blank wall.
