Nikki Finke is maybe the only journalist/blogger (certainly one of the tiny few) who can assemble the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Tom Ortenberg, Ryan Kavanaugh, Jeff Robinov and other CEOs/presidents/top-level executives of Hollywood into one room for 60 minutes to talk about the industry during awards season, in an event that also included the participation of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and select Hollywood guilds.

Another day, another web series profile; as I said already, 2011 is/was the year of the black web series, as black content creators embraced that particular form of exhibition. And I expect 2012 will see an even heavier dose of content created specifically for the web, by black producers.

Fundraising via Rucket Hub, the documentary House Music Movie is directed by Muema; who is the Founder of BounceFM.Com, a blog that supports house music. The feature length independent documentary film about house music, dance and global pop culture with a funding goal of $115,000, has been in the works for the last two years. Muema hopes the campaign funds will cover archival footage and final editing/post-production costs in time for a 2012 festival premiere.

S&A's Tambay first told us about writer/director Annette Haywood Carter's film Savannah, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jim Caviezel, nearly a year ago.  The film went into production shortly after that, and then the Savannah trail went cold.  Looking at this marketing teaser/trailer I was able to dig up, it's kind of easy to see why.
