Soooo... as we saw after Michael Jackson died, there was an immediate rush to capitalize on the man's death, with song and film. I'm FULLY expecting a similar thing to happen with Whitney Houston throughout this year, going into next year.

Last May we announced the mega mutil-year production deal between BET/Viacom and husband/wife team, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the brains behind the network's hit series, The Game, the movie Jumping The Broom and the upcoming Sparkle remake.

She was nominated for two 2012 Irish Film And Television Awards; Best Actress in a Lead Role-TV, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role-TV.  Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga managed to walk away with the award for the former this past Saturday night, for her portrayal of Nigerian-Brit music legend Shirley Bassey in the TV-movie Shirley.

What we have ended up with after all that is Kevin Macdonald's documentary MARLEY, which will world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival this month.
