Christina Milian will guest star in an upcoming episode this month of CBS' The Gifted Man titled, "In Case of Co-Dependents," directed by recurring guest star Eric LaSalle. Milian will play a successful pop star named Shawnee Baker, who is afflicted with a "mysterious ailment."

Was just reading THIS profile of Nigerian filmmaker Jeta Amata in the UK's Guardian newspaper website and learned that the director decided to rethink and reshoot his corruption drama about the volatile oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria, Black Gold, one of very few recent Hollywood/Nollywood-style collabs which stars Billy Zane (yup, that Billy Zane), Tom Sizemore, Vivica Fox, Sarah Wayne Callies, who's currently starring in AMC's hit new zombie series, The Walking Dead, Mbong Amata, Hakeem Kae Kazim, the Brit/Nigerian who has appeared in several British and American TV shows and films, as well as Jeta Amata's last film, Inale, and several others.

Out on DVD and VOD this week is the Jamie Foxx-exec produced documentary Thunder Soul, which follows the extraordinary alumni from Houston’s storied Kashmere High School Stage Band, who return home after 35 years to play a tribute concert for the 92-year-old Conrad “Prof” Johnson, their beloved band leader who broke the color barrier and transformed the school’s struggling jazz band into a world-class funk powerhouse in the early 1970s.

When I first wrote about director Adam Pesce's Papua New Guniea-set documentary Splinters last year, I hadn't yet seen it.  And despite Pesce's assertion that he "never set out to make a 'surf movie'", that's pretty much what I was expecting when I finally got a chance to view the film.  What I actually saw as I watched the film was pleasantly unexpected.

Screen Africa is reporting that South African film and stage veteran John Kani will star in that country's first locally produced telenovela, Inkaba, when pay-TV channel Mzansi Magic begins airing the program on March 19.
