This was not a good week for the studios. Everything either underperformed or just tanked. (I'll get to that in a minute) Footloose was No.2 doing much less than was projected. But then again was there any real demand to see a terrible corny remake of a beloved but also terrible corny 1984 movie?

I have yet to see neither TRON nor its sequel, TRON: Legacy, but the upcoming animated TV-series addition to the franchise, TRON: Uprising, has piqued my interest. The ten-part series is said to be set chronologically between the two films. With this latest TRON project scheduled to air on Disney XD in January 2012, I should be able to catch up on the two films by then.

One of the main issues I have with the so-called "hip-hop culture" is its occasional glorification and romanticization of illegal substance abuse. The tired argument of "it's just entertainment" just doesn't fly with me because, believe it or not, some people just don't know the difference between real and "entertainment".
