A simple yet poignant and beautifully told coming of age story that isn’t overly reliant on the obvious Hollywood-style bells and whistles to announce mood and intent and also eschews the fog and mirror antics of many ambitious indie-style films. In Dee Rees' semi-autobiographical gem of a film, Pariah, prose, poetry, beautiful photography, music and believably authentic performances all collude to produce what seems like an effortless yet unobtrusively artful presentation of a universal tale told through the conduit of a marginalised milieu.

Reed Hastings, Chief Executive at Netflix, announced last month the company would be putting its DVD-by-mail rentals on a separate website named Qwikster in an attempt to divide their growing streaming service from mail rentals. The move would have forced customers of both streaming and DVD options to visit different websites and maintain different accounts for each subscription. Customers also would have received separate credit-card charges. According to Yahoo!, due to the outrage from customers over this plan as well as the steep decline in stock shares, the company has had an about-face and has decided to drop Qwikster.

I have to admit, I still haven't had time to sit down and watch a full episode of Psych and, based on the recommendations of some of our S&A readers, I should be. Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch up soon because Dule Hill's character Gus will be getting "kissy-face" this season.

Last Sunday we premiered the first episode of Queen Hussy, kicking off the 50,000 View Challenge. It's our first foray into the space so there's a lot of daily learning, but we're happy thus far with the views we've compiled. There are a few special videos being cut right now, so once those are off the chopping block I'll drop 'em here in the 'ole Chronicles. In the meantime, I'm going to talk about the week that was...and what's in store for the coming weeks.
