One upcoming Viola Davis film that was announced in the spring and that we haven't heard much or written about since that announcement got a title change; and maybe that explains why my Google alerts setup hasn't notified me of any new developments with the film because I didn't know about, and thus didn't make the name change.

Did you know that? I didn't know that either. And as I've said before, as hard as we try on S & A, there are going to be some things that will slip by us like Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz.

This weekend's most impressive box office numbers came from Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol which opened in only just over 400 IMAX theaters this weekend to a very solid $13 million. The film opens in regular theaters nationwide on Weds Dec. 21 where its sure to give other films opening on that day, including David Fincher's (totally unecessary remake of) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a run for its money.

I know it's almost 2012, and I know I'm late in discovering FUTURESTATES and the interesting films they have to offer. But I figure that if I haven't seen them, some of you S&A readers likely haven't seen them either. And unless I'm mistaken, director Annie J. Howell's Tia & Marco, which premiered in 2010 and features Susan Kelechi Watson (Third Watch, Blackout, NCIS) and Enrique Ochoa as its leads, wasn't featured here on S&A. If it was, forgive me, and just consider this a refresher post.
