Anyone of you been watching the new black TV network, Bounce TV? And if so, thoughts on programming thus far? It's still a little early in the game I suppose, but I'm sure some of you have already started forming your opinions of it, based on its current offerings.

UPDATE Friday morning, 12/9: It's not a question mark anymore folks; this is very real and is indeed happening, as has been confirmed by some of the industry trades, like The Hollywood Reporter. So, wow! This should be very interesting... VERY interesting. It just came out of nowhere. I'm waiting to hear all the backstory on this, like how it all came together, how long those involved had been chatting about doing it, etc. I also look forward to finding out how they plan to attack it.

Sony Pictures has announced a release date for the Sparkle remake, which stars Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, and others, shepherded by Salim and Mara Brock Akil.

"Attempted Murderer..." That's what one of the young women in the preview trailer below called William Brawner, the subject of the documentary 25 To Life - a young African American man who contracted HIV at just 18 months old, something which he and his immediate family kept a secret for some 25 Years - from his friends, extended family members, and lovers, many who Brawner had unprotected sex with.

To Sleep With Anger was released with a small bit of fanfare in 1990. Charles Burnett had already acquired a reputation as one of our most important homegrown auteurs even if most of the audience, black and white alike, were unfamiliar with his work.
