One of the great things about Twitter is when celebrities or public figures get into hot water with their words and/or actions, it affords them the opportunity to quickly, and effectively, clean up any misunderstandings which was the case for Don Cheadle recently.

And I still don't really care for it (I didn't care for the first official poster either). This poster (nor the first one) would not get me in a theater to see the film, so thank goodness for trailers (I loved the trailer).

From a list penned by Richard Corliss, senior writer for Time magazine, highlighting 2011's best big screen performances, I was absolutely shocked to see these 2 names make the short list of 5 on the women's side: Ameena Matthews and Khomotso Manyaka.

Brit renaissance man (director, writer, actor, producer, playwright, and who knows what else) Noel Clarke, who we've given a lot of pixels to on this site since it was started in 2009, is one really busy fellow, doing just about everything it seems; and as I noted in a pervious post, I'd say he's maybe the most prominent black British movie talent who's still relatively unknown outside the UK - specifically here in the USA.

Well... that's what the trivia section of the IMDB page for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol says. Not banking solely on IMDB, I did some digging and found a few other sites saying the same thing, but most significantly was this quote from Ving Rhames while on the press tour for Death Race 2 in the fall of 2010:

Sheldon Candis' feature film debut, LUV, which stars Common and Michael Rainey Jr, will make its debut at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, in the dramatic competition section, and it's on my short list of films to see while I'm there, starting in less than 3 weeks.

O.K. so obviously this isn't the most important news story of the day and it doesn't reveal anything that anyone doesn't know already, but, for the record, Oprah Winfrey admitted, in an interview yesterday, that things haven't gone as well as she hoped for her network OWN.
