TVLine reports that NBC's The Voice winner Javier Colon is set to portray legendary blues singer Ray Charles in the sixth episode of NBC's The Playboy Club, which premieres this Monday at 10pm.

...it's not so good. The Hollywood Reporter's film reviewer John DeFore has written, what is to date, the first official review of Bill Duke's and D. Channsin Berry's much anticipated documentary Dark Girls (which we've covered extrensively on S & A), after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival; he calls it a "well-meaning but haphazard" film, and basically states that there's a much better movie on the subject waiting to be made.

Starting Monday of next week, the Black Film Center/Archive will honor Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing the work of Afro-Cuban filmmaker Sara Gomez. She is primarily known for her feature film De Cierta Manera (One Way or Another). The screenings will take place at the Indiana University in Bloomington.

Style Network Renews "Tia & Tamera" For Another Season

Today Style Network announced that they are renewing their smash hit reality show Tia & Tamera for another season. The series, starring twin TV stars Tia and Tamera Mowry, which premiered last month (August), has already become, according to the network, "the highest-rated series ever across all key demos" for Style.
