You'll recall Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl’s Paradise franchise of films, which follows 3 individual though interconnected stories of 3 women in love in 3 different locations, which will be released as three separate feature films, instead of 1 -  Paradise: Love, Paradise: Faith and Paradise: Hope. The franchise was picked up for USA distribution by Strand Releasing, with a 2013 debut for all three films planned, starting in the first quarter.

One of several new dramas we'll be paying attention to that are debuting this season on the UK's Channel 4 include a new political thriller series that was previously titled Coup, but is now called Secret State, and co-stars award-winning Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga.

Congrats to Zawe Ashton and Carol Morley for their British Independent Film Awards nominations; Ashton in the Most Promising Newcomer category, although, as Emmnanuel argued in a previous post (HERE), Ashton's been around a bit to be called a newcomer at this point; and the film Ashton was nominated for (critically-acclaimed docu-drama Dreams of a Life) was nominated in the Best Documentary category.

This morning I was reading up on actor Ira Aldridge (Adrian Lester is playing him in a new stage production at the Tricycle theater in London - see Sergio's announcement HERE), and I stumbled upon this video of Chiweter Ejiofor performing Hamlet, from Lawrence Bridges' 2005 documentary Why Shakespeare?, which featured similar performances, as well as reflections on the Bard, from the likes of Tom Hanks, Michael York, Martin Sheen, Julie Taymor, William Shatner, Bill Pullman, Michael Richards, Christina Applegate, and of course Chiwetel Ejiofor, and a few others.
