Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty has been getting all the attention, but The Weinstein Company has its own 'kill bin Laden' movie, titled Seal Team Six: The Raid On Osama bin Laden, which dramatizes the hunt and death of Osama bin Laden.

I'd say there are more than a few black filmmakers working consistently, and simultaneously within, and outside the studio system, that most of us (myself included) aren't aware of. There could be any number of reasons for that, which I won't go into here; but I'd say that Kim Bass falls under that category.

A couple of hours ago, I posted an entry which reported news that R. Kelly said the news season of his Trapped In The Closet series would begin the day after Thanksgiving, promising at least 20-already-shot chapters, with a hundred or so more to come (the original saga was 22 chapters long).

Another potential project for Lee Daniels' future slate; as we've already reported, over the last 2 to 3 years, since Precious, Daniels’ name has been attached to quite a few projects – Selma, Miss Saigon, Iced, Anna In The Tropics, The Butler, and, most recently, The Paperboy, which is in theaters, and not exactly lighting the box office on fire, or drawing lots of critical acclaim. It's Daniels in Shadowboxer mode - in retrograde.

Tonight I got into a conversation with some friends about old TV shows from the past that we really liked and I bought up A Man Called Hawk. You remember him don't you? A brother so cool that he could literally drive a car at night with tinted windows with shades on. Now THAT'S one bad mutha'.
