Idris Elba In Talks To Join Kathryn Bigelow's Bin Laden Film

The man who sends the ladies hearts a-flutter, Idris Elba, is reportedly now in deep discussions to join the cast of director Kathryn Bigelow's yet unititled action thriller about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden for Sony Pictures. He would co-star in the film along with possibility of Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce who are both also in negotiations to star in the film.

The 8th annual Bahamas International Film Festival is just around the corner (December 1-4) and, in addition to films we've previewed on S&A like Yelling To The Sky and Restless City screening, here's an interesting documentary also on the roster.  It's called The Creators and it takes a look at the creative environment of post apartheid South Africa through the eyes of various artist.

Considered to be China's top film event (the country's equivalent of Oscars), the annual China Golden Rooster Awards (named for the year of the Rooster) were handed out late last month at the Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival, as I just learned, and a film we've previously covered on S&A picked up a trophy in a major category!

It's already scheduled for an initial limited December 16th release in London, playing at 7 theaters (including 1 in Sheffield and another in Manchester); I just learned that several more cinemas and play dates have been confirmed for Carol Morley's Dreams of a Life, which starred Zawe Ashton (Emmanuel's got an interview with her coming up, so look out for that).
