Intimate Apparel is a play written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage. Set in New York City in 1905, it centers on a young African American woman who travels to New York to pursue her dreams of becoming an independent woman as a seamstress.

The Abu Dhabi Film Festival announced the full line-up of its upcoming sixth edition, which will run from October 11-20. A total of 81 feature length films and 84 short films representing 48 countries will be screened at the Festival, with world premieres from Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar and the UAE, and even the Sparkle remake, as well as Flight starring Denzel Washington, among other titles from the USA.

Kenyan crime drama titled Nairobi Half Life, from director David Tosh Gitonga, is Kenya's selection for the Best Foreign Language Oscar category, making it just the second film from Kenya to be entered into the race (the first was 2008's Heart of Fire, a Kenyan/German co-production about civil war in Eritrea. However, despite the entry, the film didn't make the short list of final nominations by the Academy for the 2009 Awards.
