A film that's on my to-see list, if it ever makes it to NYC - Chocó, set in Colombia, which centers on the struggles of a 27-year-old mother of 2 (the titular Chocó), working a poorly-paid job in a gold mine, living in a tiny wooden hut, who's married to a reckless and abusive man named Everlides, a marimba player who gambles away their life savings.

Since NBC blessed the viewing public with a sneak preview Revolution, the new JJ Abrams and Eric Kripke (Supernatural) speculative fiction drama (I kind of don’t feel it’s quite sci-fi, a la Abrams’ Fringe or post-apocalyptic) it think it only fair for it to be a special edition of this week’s column. SPOILERS APLENTY, so please read carefully if you don’t want to spoil the experience!
