As we have reported here last week, Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas, along with her mother Natalie Hawkins and her siblings, will be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey on her program, Oprah's Next Chapter, this Sunday Aug. 26th on OWN, starting at 8:30PM (7:30PM Central).

Thanks to today's news, we know a little more about the project; it was early last month that we announced that Jennifer Lopez was developing an hour-long drama for ABC Family that will center on a lesbian couple (one a police officer and the other a school teacher)... "who suddenly have their already child-heavy household turned upside down when a wayward teenage girl moves in."

The short story goes... On October 10, 1947, the African rail workers of the French colonies in West Africa went on strike for 5 months. The main focus of the strike was Thiès, a railway junction in Senegal that served the rest of the continent. The railway's European managers sternly ordered the local workers back but they refused - their key demand being the same rights as white workers. Their strike marks the beginning of decolonization.
