Danny Glover Co-starring In Interracial Romance Flick "Chasing Shakespeare"

Here's a bit of casting news on one of the busiest actor's around. Danny Glover is set to co-star in the upcoming interracial romantic drama Chasing Shakespeare. The indie film, which is being directed by Norry Niven, will be filmed in Texas.

The documentary Elder's Corner is created by SIJI, a singer, songwriter, producer and filmmaker born in the UK to Nigerian parents. The project, shot in some of Nigeria's urban cities, has raised $5,380 from their $20,000 with 31 days left to go.

A documentary film project by Sosena Solomon, Merkato, has raised $5,240 of the $12,000 goal through their Kickstarter Campaign, which has 11 days left to go. The documentary was shot in the open air markets of the streets of Addis Ababa, Ehiopia.

Yesterday we told you about the forthcoming four-part mini-series Top Boy, set to air in November on the U.K.’s Channel 4, and featuring rising star Ashley Walters. A majority of the program’s cast is comprised of black actors, as its story focuses on the drug-dealing inhabitants of a public housing estate. StereoTypical-- I know. But, sadly, Top Boy will be one of the rare occurrences where U.K. viewers will get to see that many black actors on screen at once.
