The film is called Sonny Boy - a Dutch film that tells the true story of the "forbidden" relationship between Waldemar Nods, a 19-year-old student from Suriname, and Rika van der Lans, a married Dutch woman in her 40s, and mother of 4 children. The pair meet in the 1920s, fall in love, and Rika becomes pregnant soon thereafter, causing a scandal with far-reaching consequences, leading up to the World War II.

Well... there goes another summer movie season; this one, in my opinion, has been one of the least interesting in recent years. Very little appealed to me. So very little... then again, maybe I'm just getting even grumpier in my *old age.*

The book, titled Alleen Maar Nette Mensen (or Only Decent People) doesn't appear to have been translated to English yet, as I couldn't find an English-language version of it. But if anyone does, feel free to let the rest of us know.

Pop star/actress Christina Milian is in negotiations to appear this fall in the new ABC show Maid in Miami. Milian, who can also be seen later this year in ABC's Dancing with the Stars, will play a maid who aspires to be a singer.
