One of those shows that hasn't been talked about very much around here it seems - AMC's post-Civil War drama series titled Hell On Wheels, one of several Civil War-themed projects (TV and film) either in development at various studios, or already on the air, which co-stars rapper-turned-actor Common, who plays a character named Elam - a freed, bi-racial slave who heads west to find work, while also hoping to find his place in society, as he doesn’t feel that he fits squarely into either the “black world” or the “white world.”

So in my recent piece about Eartha Kitt playing the role of Catwoman on the old Batman ABC TV series in 1968, I stated that year was also the year of the NBC TV series Julia with Diahann Carroll which I mentioned I had once written about on S & A.

Entertainment icon Carol Channing raised a few eyebrows back in 2002 when she revealed in her autobiography, Just Luck I Guess: A Memoir Of Sorts, that she was of mixed-race.  Then she took it all back.

They keep saying that the DVD format is on its last legs and yet they still keep coming out with very interesting and worthwhile releases and especially older catalog studio titles (most of which are new to DVD) and for which there is still obviously a significant demand for.
