UPDATE: Thanks to reader DCM, we can now confirm that the actress in the photo is Kelsey Scott, who's had parts in a number of TV shows like Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, The Young And The Restless, Days Of Our Lives; she's also a writer and director.

This is interesting... So Lee Daniels apparently couldn't get his original MLK project off the ground (titled Selma, which had David Oyelowo starring), and has switched gears, still staying on the MLK course, but this time teaming with Hugh Jackman (who was also attached to Selma), to take on Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination in a new film that will reportedly explore an "unconventional view of King's murder."

Rel Dowdell's 2nd feature film, Changing The Game, which stars Tony Todd (Candyman,  24, The Event); Sean Riggs (Stomp the Yard), actor/rapper Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones (A Day in the Life, Blade: The Series, Law & Order, NCIS: LA) and Irma P. Hall (Soul Food) is heading to DVD on August 28. The film had a limited theatrical release back in May of this year.

Just a quick thought... given recent project greenlights, where "black cinema" is concerned, I'm reminded of the late 1990s/early 2000s, when rom-coms or rom-drams (romantic dramas) with all-black casts, were popular: Hav Plenty, Love Jones, The Best Man, Love & Basketball, Brown Sugar, Two Can Play That Game, The Wood, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and on, and on, and on...
