"Think Like A Man" Producer Will Packer Talks To S&A About The Film's Strong Opening Weekend + "No Good Deed"

Unless you've had your head buried in the sand somewhere, I'm sure that, by now, most of you have heard that the ensemble dramedy Think Like A Man, routed the competition, taking this weekend's box office crown, raking in around $33 Million, based on industry estimates. I'm hearing that the actual figure could very well be higher once the official count is in, some time tomorrow.

I predicted two weeks ago that Think Like A Man would be the film to knock The Hunger Games off of its No.1 box office perch where it's been sitting comfortably for the last month. But does anyone listen to me?

Ahead of Sergio's official box office post tomorrow, I thought I'd jump in here (given that we've got a contest running, and this is apparently the hottest *black film* of the year thus far) and let you all know that, according to Deadline, Think Like A Man is en route to taking the box office crown this weekend, with an estimated $30 million!!

British actor Aml Ameen (Kidulthood, Harry's Law), who I'm interviewing shortly for S&A, is the helmer of the short film Drink, Drugs and KFC. Described as "The Wood meets Superbad," the short stars Ameen, Mikel Ameen, Aaron Fontaine and others. It will air tomorrow Saturday, April 21st on UK's The Community Channel, Sky 539 and Virgin 233 at 10.30pm.

I believe After Earth, the project he's starring in with his father, Will Smith, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, is still very much in the principal photography stage of the production process, but young Jaden Smith is already negotiating his next project.

The projects Kickstarter page says that the filmmakers (Patrick Coker, Michael Paul and Adam Wiesen, graduate candidates at Long Island University’s Media Arts program, who work collectively as TryBoro Productions) were "inspired by the rapid gentrification of working class neighborhoods throughout their native New York CIty."
