Check out the below 4 films selected from the PBS Online Film Festival - a festival showcasing 25 short films that feature a diversity of subjects, voices and viewpoints. Audiences will watch and will then have the opportunity to vote for your favorite short film, from March 4 through March 22. The film with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced in early April.I went through the list and selected the 4 that represent the African Diaspora, and all 4 are embedded below. "Ruthless crime-lord" and "Terrence Howard" paired together may not immediately seem like a fit, but, yes, Mr Howard stars in the action-thriller Dead Man Down, opposite Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace in its starring cast.

Yeah I know what you'e thinking. What, now??? After all this time? It must be at least 20 years since that film came out. No actually it's more like 27. But why now? That's an interesting development of late.

I recall joking about a year ago, that the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) was fast-becoming a black cable TV network, even though that isn't what Oprah and Discovery originally had planned for the site.
