Summer doesn't officially begin until June 21, but we can agree that the summer movie season is underway, with typical fare like Star Trek Into Darkness and Iron Man 3 already raking in box office cash by the tank-load, worldwide.

Meanwhile, this weekend will see the opening of Fast & Furious 6 trailer and The Hangover Part III competing for your dollars; and next week, After Earth will make its case for king of the season.

What's on your must-see list - especially with regards to those movies with talents of African descent leading, both in front of and behind the camera?

In addition to After Earth, Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Into Darkness and Iron Man 3, here's what remains, scheduled to hit theaters from now, through early September, listed in date of release order, starting with the JuneViolet & Daisy (Geoffrey Fletcher's directorial debut), the documentary on unheralded African American backup singers, 20 Feet from Stardom, and Call Me Kuchu, a documentary on David Kato - Uganda's first openly gay man - and his fellow activists working against the clock to defeat a new bill that threatens to make homosexuality punishable by death; the Somali pirtae thriller A Hijacking, the Jamie Foxx, Channine Tatum thriller White House Down, the Traffic-like documentary How to Make Money Selling Drugs;

In July: Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, a concert movie; Idris Elba co-stars in the sci-fi actioner Pacific Rim (let's hope he lives to see the end of this one); the comedy sequel Grown Ups 2, which Chris Rock co-stars in; Ryan Coogler's lauded debut Fruitvale Station; Lee Daniels' The Butler.

And in August: Denzel Washington in the action-comedy 2 Guns, with Mark Wahlberg.

Finally, early September: Vin Diesel returns in Riddick.

So, once again, what's on your must-see list? If nothing, how about what's on your might-see list? And if nothing there either, what's on your "I'm interested but will probably wait for it on home video" list?
