It's an engaging *soliloquy* if you will, that I think shows the actress in a light that we rarely get to see.

Two more clips from Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, which Fox Searchlight opens in limited release today (NYC & LA), after a much-celebrated, albeit brief trip through the film festival circuit. It'll expand nationwide in coming weeks.I certainly don't intend to post every single released clip from the film, but these 2 new ones feature actresses who, until now, have been absent from all the clips released thus far - specifically Adepero Oduye, Alfre Woodard, and Lupita Nyong'o.In the first one, titled "Let Me Weep, Solomon," Solomon (Chiwetel Ejiofor) tries to shake Eliza (Adepero Oduye), whose children have been taken away from her, out of despair. And in the second one, titled "Take Comfort," Mistress Shaw (Alfre Woodard) gives Patsey (Lupita Nyong'O) some words of wisdom. For our past coverage on the film, read Frances Bodomo's review HERE; Jai interviewed Lupita Nyong'o HERE and Alfre Woodard HERE; I interviewed Steve McQueen HERE; and most recently, Vanessa interviewed Kelsey Scott (who plays Northop's wife) HERE.

Here's a nice behind-the-scenes featurette, highlighting the making of the film, featuring key cast and crew, including director Steve McQueen and star Chiwetel Ejiofor, as well as a lot of new footage not seen in the only trailer that's been released thus far.

Adepero Oduye Is Replacing Condola Rashad In 'The Trip to Bountiful'

Last week, when it was announced that the Broadway revival of The Trip to Bountiful, which was initially scheduled for a 14-week limited engagement through July 7, received a second extension to close on October 9, I wondered whether co-star Condola Rashad would be replaced for the latter half of the Bountiful extension, since she's already signed up for another Broadway play - a new adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, with an interracial twist, which will see her play Juliet opposite Orlando Bloom. That play is set to begin previews on August 24, for a September 19 opening, which would obviously conflict with Rashad's time on the extended Bountiful run (now through October 9).So who's going to take over for her during the latter half of Bountiful's run?Adepero Oduye, making her Broadway debut, although she's no stranger to the stage.Producers of the critically-acclaimed revival made the announcement today, adding that Oduye will actually be taking over for Rashad this week!

The film is not yet listed on her (Storm Reid's) IMDB nor IMDBPro pages, but the photo above (and below in full), as well as the caption that accompanied it ("Storm Reid as "Emily" and Adepero Oduye as "Eliza" on set of Twelve Years a Slave directed by Steve McQueen") most certainly are.
