Following up on Tambay's item about the mess invloving the release date for those two Will Packer produced movies in 2014, comes word that Denzel Washington's next film, the action thriller 2 Guns, will be relased by Universal this summer on August 16th.

Where in the hell are we? There is controversy because Denzel Washington may receive an Oscar nomination for "Flight"?! Here we go again, another negative portrayal of a black character gets an Oscar nod? Is anyone paying attention to craft? Did you see Denzel's performance in "Flight"? It is is fantastic. Mr. Washington delivers. Denzel is a force. He's one of the best actors of our time. So, when I was asked, "what do you think about the current controversy over Denzel's performance in "Flight", I thought, are you kidding me? The only thing that we should be discussing is how brilliant his performance was.

In Flight, Denzel Washington stars as Captain Whip Whitaker, a veteran airline pilot who miraculously crash lands a plane, saving nearly all 102 passengers onboard the flight. Afterward, Whip is hailed as a hero; however, as more is learned about Whip, and the crash landing, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really responsible, and what exactly happened to and on that plane.
