In what I believe would be his first true Hollywood starring role (certainly his first English-language film), Frenchman Omar Sy is said to be "in talks" to star alongside Bradley Cooper (who is everywhere it seems these days) in a culinary comedy tentatively-titled Chef, for The Weinstein Company.

Here's the first trailer for Michel Gondry's whimsical Parisian romance Mood Indigo, which stars Romain Duris (L'Auberge Espagnole) and Audrey Tautou (Amelie, Dirty Pretty Things) starring as Colin and Chloe, a wealthy couple that endure hardship when she falls ill with the strange ailment of "water lily in the lung."

Cesar Award-winnng French actor Omar Sy's first post-Intouchables release, titled De l’autre côté du périph, or On The Other Side Of The Tracks, was acquired by The Weinstein Company - specifically for North America, Latin America and China. Although no word yet on release dates.

Ok so it's not necessarily cinema, but it's Sunday night, and it does feature the man who has quickly become France's most prominent actor of African descent (thanks to his role in this year's international monster hit Intouchables) - a man who moved to Hollywood this year, and recently signed with CAA, intent on making his mark in the USA as well.

Yeah, so, uh, I'm not sure what to make of this one; It's not a project I knew about before today, even though I thought I was aware of all Omar Sy's upcoming projects. Although it looks like his role in this one is a supporting part, not starring like most of the others.

I gotta say that despite everything I hear and read about Harvey Weinstein, and my own first (and only) time meeting him in person several years ago, I almost always enjoy listening to him in conversation - specifically in interviews.
