By now I’m sure we’re all familiar with the story, even if it’s just the broad details of it – young woman dies in her apartment and her body isn’t discovered for a good 3 years, as it lay there putrefying – which actually sounds like it could be a pitch for a fictional narrative, but actually is very real.

Congrats to Zawe Ashton and Carol Morley for their British Independent Film Awards nominations; Ashton in the Most Promising Newcomer category, although, as Emmnanuel argued in a previous post (HERE), Ashton's been around a bit to be called a newcomer at this point; and the film Ashton was nominated for (critically-acclaimed docu-drama Dreams of a Life) was nominated in the Best Documentary category.

Just as the second series of Channel 4's hit university-set comedy Fresh Meat is beginning, series one has been released on DVD in the U.K.  Co-star Zawe Ashton's break-out performance as slacker-student Vod is reason enough to pick this up.

With Carol Morley's Dreams Of A Life finally opening in USA theaters tomorrow, August 3rd, courtesy of Strand Releasing, we thought it would be a good idea to repost our interview with the star of the film, Zawe Ashton, originally posted in December of last year, before all the Dreams Of A Life hype really crossed over the pond, from the UK, to the USA - although, long-time readers of S&A will know that we've been reporting on the British film since last summer.
