Adina Porter ('True Blood,' 'Newsroom') Will Treat Plane Crash Survivors In 'Grey's Anatomy'

Adina Porter (Lettie Mae Thornton in True Blood, and Kendra James Newsroom) will guest-star in the upcoming new season (its 9th) of Shonda Rhimes' ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy, playing Dr. Ramsey, "a doctor at the Boise hospital who treats the survivors of the plane crash that has already claimed at least one life."

Porter (who has also appeared in Rhimes' Private Practice) will appear in the second episode of the season, titled, Remember the Time, which will includes flashbacks to the site of the plane crash.

Fans of the series will understand what that is.

Grey's Anatomy returns for season 9 on Thursday, September 27 at 9 pm on ABC; and of course, it'll be immediately followed by the season 2 premiere of Scandal.
