The
BBC recently confirmed that the first episode of the 8th and final season of its popular action/comedy series,
Hustle, will air on
January 06, at 9PM (BBC1/BBC1 HD). The show revolves around a team of con-men, led by
Mickey Bricks (Adrian Lester), who feed on the greed of the wealthy.
I'm especially sad to see this show go away, as it was one of my favorites. But it's encouraging to know that a program with a minority-actor in a lead role was able to last for such a long time. And
Hustle is occasionally shown late at night on
PBS, and is available on DVD, so all is not lost.
When the final series of Hustle airs in January, veteran actor Paterson Joseph will guest-star. According to SEEN it, Mickey Bricks and his team will plot to give gold dealer Dexter Gold (Joseph), famed for parting the elderly from their precious treasures in return for a pittance, a taste of his own medicine.
