Broken City Half

Here's your first look (trailer, poster) for Allen Hughes' first directorial effort since The Book Of Eli in 2010 - the crime thriller Broken City, which already stars Mark WahlbergRussell CroweCatherine Zeta-JonesJeffrey Wright and others.

In the $60 million noir-style drama, Wahlberg stars as an ex-cop turned private detective who is hired by a local powerful politician (played by Crowe) to see if his wife is cheating on him. When the mayor's wife's cheating partner ends up dead, the private eye immerses himself in the mayor's business and uncovers a real estate scandal that involves dealing himself choice city-owned properties.

Jeffrey Wright will play the city's police commissioner who has a "complicated history" with Crowe's powerful politician.

The film is scheduled for a January 2013 release by 20th Century Fox.

Check out the trailer below, and the poster underneath; I must say that I'm not moved by it. The Kanye West Power track, which seems like it's been overused since it was first release, doesn't help. Nothing I see or hear here screams at me to go see it; how about you?

Looks like the usual cop drama/suspension thriller. I've seen my fair share of them and have equally enjoyed them. I might see it in theaters, we'll see how I'm feeling at the moment because I've done a good job of avoiding some of the summers most lackluster offerings without fail..
