Coincidentally, I recently re-read Edgar Rice Burrough's other "white stranger in a strange land" work, Tarzan (he wrote the John Carter series as well, FYI). His influence is still evident, considering recent films like James Cameron's Avatar. But I believe this is one of those titles fanboys have been anticipating since first announced; so if you're one of them, here ya go. You can drool now:

    This is a visually boring and uninspiring trailer. When I heard Andrew Stanton, director of Finding Nemo and Wall-E was directing John Carter I was interested. But this looks like any typical sci-fi movie. I guess no Pixar magic here.

    What kind of dull version of Mars is this.

    *hums tune "History Repeating"*

    this surely reeks of "Avatar" (and all films like it).

    I could see Prince of Persia, too---a lot in the styling...and swords and other pointy blades. LOL. It's Disney. It'll fare.

    Aside from this Taylor Kitsch kid: James Purefoy, Dominic West, Bryan Cranston, Willem Dafoe, word, say what?

    Thank you, imdb.

    Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, who is in desperate need of a savior.

    Princess of Helium??? LOL.

    Horrible trailer that tells nothing about the story or premise of the film. Horrible music choice and totally in agreement with Afrostyling!

    @Afrostyling

    Good point. That's exactly what I say about things I don't like-- "Don't feed it, and eventually it will die."

    Get out of my head! I wont be watching this movie. Maybe bootleg. I have decided not to support movies that appropriate another culture and those that do not include a diverse cast.
    People need to understand the power they wield as consumers. Stop funding foolishness.

    Yes, I am drooling. Though they could have changed him from confederate to union.
