It was just announced that the Chicago International Film Festival will this year honor Anthony Mackie with its annual Artistic Achievement Award at its Black Perspective Tribute. The event will take place on Saturday October 15th at the Chase Auditorium in downtown Chicago .

According to the official press release just released "the Black Perspectives Committee will celebrate this gifted actor with film highlights from his most memorable performances and a discussion about his career. Mackie will then be presented with the Artistic Achievement Award by Michael Kutza, the Founder & Artistic Director of the Chicago International Film Festival."

He will join such past honorees as Spike Lee, Forest Whitaker, Ruby Dee, Pam Grier, Sidney Poitier and Morgan Freeman.

DAMN IT! Once again Lexington Steele has been overlooked for his enormous contribution to the cinematic arts. When is the brother going to get some respect?
