This new longer trailer for the series gives us a lot more, expanding on key pieces of premise information hinted at in the previous 2 shorter teasers.

Halle Berry stars in CBS' new Steven Spielberg-produced futuristic thriller Extant, which debuts on WednesdayJuly 9, at 9/8c.

The series, as we've known so far, will center on a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family, when she returns home after a year on a solo mission in space.

One key piece of information previous teasers have hinted at, and which is expanded on in the below trailer, is that it she's carrying what is likely an alien baby (or something), which she brings back with her to earth.

The new extended preview shows us just who might be responsible for that impregnation - an alien life form (at least that's what is suggested) who seemingly appears out of nowhere, on her one-man spacecraft, and who, by the way, looks just like a black man, played by an actor named Sergio Harford

We also learn that her current child with series husband played by Goran Visnjic, is actually an android.

And there's more, including suggestions of something far more grand at work (or play) than this family realizes. Quite possibly, whatever she's carrying inside of her, apparently put there by Harford's character, might ultimately change the course of human history (or something).

I looked at Harford's IMDB page to find out that he doesn't have a lot of credits (at least not screen credits). Prior to Extant, he appeared in single episodes of Conan and Without a Trace.

Louis Gossett Jr. plays Halle's good-natured but unreliable father - a retired doctor living out his last years in an isolated community, which keeps him out of touch with the rest of the world, including his daughter and her family.

Grace GummerCamryn Manheim and Michael O'Neill also co-star in Extant.

The script was penned by Mickey Fisher, who is executive producing alongside Spielberg, Greg WalkerBrooklyn WeaverJustin Falvey and Darryl Frank

This has the same flavor of an ABC series that aired and was canceled a few years ago - Defying Gravity. Extant looks like better quality Scifi than just the 'lasers and warp engines' kind.

Nope what it really is, the brotha from another planet is really the fetus!!!! She's really seeing who he's going to be once she 're'births him i.e. speaking with his consciousness!

Am I the only who wishes How To Get Away With Murder was also on CBS?

Their trailers have been impressive when compared to the other networks.

Someone is trying to create human-robot hybrids to withstand a future alien attack but the twist is its actually for offense and the aliens mean us no harm. IMHO

To make it stranger, the black dude is her first love, another astronaut who's been dead for 20 years. Ooooooo scary!!!!
