Here comes a new web series created by the Black & Sexy TV team (aka Dennis Dortch and Numa Perrier), and executive produced by Issa Rae (aka Awkward Black Girl) via her Issa Rae Productions.
I'm sure everyone who reads this site is familiar with all those names and brands by now; at least I hope so. They've all worked together before (specifically Dennis directing an episode of Awkward Black Girl, and Issa Rae appearing in a few episodes of the popular Black & Sexy TV series The Number.
But this is an entirely brand new seperate web series that they've teamed up on, titled Roomieloverfriends, starring Shayla Hale and Andra Fuller (Andra stars in the popular CW TV series The L.A. Complex, which we've covered on S&A, specifically for his storyline).
Roomieloverfriends is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 9, 2012, on Issa Rae's YouTube channel, which you can subscribe to HERE.
Ceated and written by Dennis Dortch and Numa Perrier, the upcoming new series is exec produced by Dortch, Perrier, Jeanine Daniels, Issa Rae, Jonathan Cutler, and Paula Parsons.
A trailer for it follows below:

I love the fact that they have joined forces! Not always easy to do creatively.

Looks, sounds, and feels like a Dennis Dortch production with Awkward Black Girl VoiceOver slapped on top. I'm not turned off, but I'm not intrigued either. Reserving judgement.

Good for them. If the networks won't give you play, make a way out of no way. I'll look forward to watching and supporting.
