If you've never had the chance to see Spike Lee's feature film debut, She's Gotta Have It, on the big screen, and you live in NYC, you'll have a chance to do so next month, when it'll screen as 1 half of a double-feature titled Brooklyn Close-Up, on February 27th at BAMcinématek in Brooklyn.
The other half of the double-feature will be Nelson George & Diana Paragas’ documentary ode to the borough that they love, titled Brooklyn Boheme - a film we've covered on S&A, which includes interviews with the likes of Spike Lee, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, and other Brooklyn natives.
It was the opening night film at last fall's Urbanworld Film Festival here in NYC, but hasn't screened much since then, if at all; so if you didn't catch that at Urbanworld, and would like to, here's your chance to do so.
There will be a Q&A with Nelson George and Diane Paragas between screenings.
Tickets and specific time slots aren't available yet, but once we know, you'll know.
Consider this an early FYI for what's to come.
