While we wait for the big screen adaptation, BBC America is getting us ready for what they promise should be an even darker, more intense season 3 of the acclaimed fan favorite, Luther, by releasing a brand-spanking new trailer, revealing more footage, and giving USA audiences a better idea of what this season's story strands will comprise of.

So mark your calendars - 4 episodes; 4 nights in a row, so no waiting from week-to-week as in the past; September 3-6 (less than a week away) just at 10pm ET/PT each night, the much-anticipated return of the series starring Idris Elba in the title role that won him a Golden Globe Best Actor award.

This third (and likely final) installment (before the motion picture) finds the near-genius detective back under intense pressure with two conflicting crimes to investigate and a ruthless ex-cop determined to bring him down. But love also crosses the detective's path in this new chapter when he meets Mary Day (Sienna Guillory). But it looks like Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson) will have a little something to say about that.

So Luther will have 2 white women fighting over him... maybe.

I'd say more about season 3's various plots, but I won't spoil it for you.

I don't watch the show because of that. I could care less who he #ucks!!!! It's an awesome show with good actors and great writers. People need to lay off the color bullshyt and focus on what's really important.

"So Luther will have 2 white women fighting over him..."
Luther takes place in the UK where interracial relationships are very common for black men and black women compared to their counterparts in the US so lets try not to project our American cultural norms and expectations onto a British TV show.
