This is wonderful news for those of you who'll be attending this year's American Black Film Festival, which runs from June 20 to 23.
We've already sung the praises of Behn Zeitlin’s feature film debut, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, which continued its streak of festival accolades, picking up the FIPRESCI prize and the coveted Camera d'Or, at the Cannes Film Festival last weekend.
Now little Hushpuppy (Quvenzhané Wallis) and her posse will ber heading to South Beach, FL next month!
Vanessa will be covering the festival for S&A this year, whose lineup includes films we've highlighted like Russ Parr's The Undershepherd, Byron Hurt's Soul Food Junkies, Matthew Cherry's The Last Fall, Sheldon Candis' LUV and others.
Add Beasts to that list as the official opening night film, and this year is shaping up quite nicely for the festival!

I am very excited for this film, can't wait to see it and wish the best for its entire team. I will not, however, be stepping anywhere near the ABFF festival again, unfortunately. (Key word "again"..)
