When it was initially announced in April, in BET's unveiling of its next season new programming & pickups, it was called House Husbands; that name has changed, making the scripted comedy series' official new title, The Real Husbands of Hollywood.
And with a title like that, you can probably guess what will make up its content.
Based on what was described as "an insanely funny sketch" that aired during the 2011 BET Awards, the upcoming new series will skewer the immensely popular Real Housewives reality TV franchise.
Already previously attached to star in the primetime series are Kevin Hart, Nelly, Bobby Brown, Anthony Anderson and Nick Cannon (although with Bobby Brown heading back to rehab, he's likely out; the same goes for Anthony Anderson, who's NBC series Guys with Kids was picked up for next season).
And as of this evening, you can add Robin Thicke, J.B. Smoove, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin and Faizon Love to the cast of the show which will reportedly include both scripted and improvised dialogue.
Stan Lathan is attached to direct, with 10 episodes on order.
Ralph Farquhar (the series showrunner) will exec produce with Hart, Tim Gibbons, Dave Becky, Stan Lathan and Jessie Collins.
And if you missed the sketch that the show is based on, watch a snip of it below for an idea of what to expect:

JB Smoove is too inarticulate/mush-mouthy! I cannot stomach listening to him talk/speak!!!

The sketches for BET Awards were hilarious. I look forward to it. I wonder if Nicole Ari Parker, Paula Patton & Tisha Campbell Martin will mock themselves with their husbands occasionally

Ok, I did love the sketch and the idea of turning it into a series but this cast is so...MEH! J.B. Smoove may be the saving grace...the guy is hilarious.
