Billy Brown has landed a recurring role as a homicide detective on the hit Showtime drama Dexter; specifically, Brown, whose credits include mostly TV work, most recently, his role as “Death Row” Reynolds, on FX’s boxing drama Lights Out, will play Mike Cutler, a "no-nonsense Chicago homicide detective who transfers to Miami Metro, where he immediately ruffles some feathers."

He joins Mos Def, who, as we already told you, was also recently added to the series' sixth season cast, in a multi-episode story arc.

Production began this week, in Los Angeles; the new season begins this fall.

I agree...I hope he doesn't go the way of Sgt. Doakes. I feel like I've seen this character before. *shrug* I'm starting to lose interest in a lot of these shows. Dexter, Jackie, United States of Tara, True Blood, etc. Maybe its the 3rd/4th season that is loosing me. I don't know.
