Last week, we found out about an under-the-radar film project currently in production titled Black Girl in Paris, based on the book by Shay Youngblood that supposedly stars Tracy Heggins from Medicine for Melancholy, LUV and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.

We searched and couldn't cornfirm it. There's not even a listing for the project on Imdb.com.

Fortunately, Emmanuel came across this video interview (below) with British actress Zaraah Abrahams, who is co-starring with Heggins in the film, and which confirms that the project is indeed currently in production.

However no word yet as to who is directing for the film, who the screenwriter is, or who's producing it, although I've come across some info that states actress Ashley Brown is one of the producers.

Of course, it goes without saying that once we find out more information about this film we'll pass it along to you.

Awesome! I enjoyed reading that book as a young adult. If I remember correctly, the main character was complex and the book had a nuanced sensuality about it. If done right, it has the potential to be something that could break new ground in black cinema.
