It was previously announced that Nigerian filmmaker Jeta Amata decided to rethink and reshoot his political corruption drama about the volatile oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria, Black Gold.  The project a collaboration of Hollywood/Nollywood stars Billy Zane, Tom Sizemore, Vivica FoxSarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), Mbong Amata, Hakeem Kae Kazim and several others.

Amata stated he decided to reshoot the film because:

"It had to be more current. It had to adhere strictly to what was going on right now – the Arab spring and all that... It was a huge challenge that the Arabs posed to the rest of the world, especially the people in the Niger delta. If they can look at their dictators and say, 'No, we want a change', there's no reason why people in west Africa can't stand up. And it's beginning to happen."

Amata recently took to his facebook page to reveal new poster art and announce that the reshot film will have its first viewing stateside at a special screening at the United Nations on September 26th.  With an official theatrical release on December 7th in North America and Europe with and opening in Nigeria December 21st.

A new trailer has not been released but you can view the original below:

Sounds and looks like a mess. How much did they spend to reshoot and why? Reason for the reshoot is suspect. Coming out through who in the U.S. And where? This thing had a hallow of trouble on it from the jump and sounds like money was wasted which is disgusting in this economy and filmmaking climate.

I can tell you they spent a greater amount of initial budget to reshoot this film and their director is a producer more or less a producer than director. So you know what to expect yet? Noticed the problem with nollywood is they've got just a number of directors and hundred folks with hundreds of directing credit. Same applies to their actors.

That poster is kind bootlegged. It really doesn't make me want to see the film.
