Filmmaker and programmer in residence Amir George of Chicago's Black Cinema House, and Los Angeles based curator Erin Christovale, are presenting, again, a screening of short films they call Black Radical Imagination, this week in San Francisco.
Imagination was designed by George and Christovale to "invoke a futurist aesthetic of the black image on screen. The visual pieces delve into the worlds of video art, film animation, narrative storytelling, and new media. Each artist contributes their own vision of a free changing world in a post modern society."
The Imagination screening, which was curated by Christovale George, will take place this Saturday August 31st at the Artists' Television Access located on 992 Valencia Street in San Francisco starting at 8:00 PM,
And the films to be shown this time are Golden Chain by Adebukola Bodunrin & Ezra Claytan Daniels (2013), Afronauts by Cristina De Middel (2013), Mae’s Journal by Amir George (2013), Quiescence Interrupted… Adumbrate by Anasi Knowbody (2013), Split Ends, I Feel Wonderful by Akosua Adoma Owusu (2012), Reifying Desire 2 by Jacolby Satterwhite (2012), and Changing Same by Cauleen Smith (2001).
