An update & adjustment to the indie drama Blame It On The Hustle, a project highlighted on this site earlier this week.

First, I'm told that the story actually isn't based on the Black Mafia Family, as previously reported, but rather on "the rise and fall of the first urban crime family "The Hit Boyz" in present day New York City."

Secondly, the project is an independent film produced by Blame It On The Hustle LLC.

Third, the starring cast is as we previously reported: DMXVing Rhames and Laila Odom; although we can now confirm that Jackie LongMekhi Phifer, and Michael Imperioli, are also attached.

Fourth, Benny Boom (Next Day Air) will direct the film.

And finally, fifth, Phil 'Gates' Jordan and Philip Lawton will executive produce.

Blame It On The Hustle is slated for a late 2013 release.
