Bounce TV, the nation's first black over-the-air broadcast TV network, will launch its first-ever original series Family Time - a half hour situation comedy created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl) and produced by Evans and partner Trenten Gumbs. The series will air beginning this summer.

This is a big move for the network, which launched only last September and is already estimated to be available in 75% of black households and 60 million homes nationally.

Family Time centers on the life and times of The Stallworths, a working class African American family who scratches off a lottery ticket and jumps to middle class overnight.

Omar Gooding (Baby Boy, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper) stars as the patriarch of the show, leading a cast that includes Angell Conwell, Jayla Calhoun and Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.

Family Time debuts on Bounce TV June 18, and will air on Mondays at 8pm.

    I don't have this channel on DirecTV. Wish I did, I'd certainly give it a chance.

    LOL. This is an OTA channel. Hook up an antenna.

    I would watch this for Bentley Kyle Evans alone. That man is a fool!

    They almost had me until they got to the lottery ticket-- sounds a lot like the last season of the Roseanne show.
    I have seen a few movies on this channel, though. Interestingly enough they were Mahogany, Sparkle and A Piece of the Action but I must admit, I'm not a regular viewer.

    Aw, damn. They got Omar, too? More talent wasted on sub-par programming.

    Bentley Kyle Evans Jr? I gotta feeling he didn't have to audition for the part

    Has anyone ever watched this channel? I don't even know if I have it.

    @ZEUS - No, no, no, no , no... I mean.. they ARE really trying as I was trying to support them, but I completely forgot about them until this post. I was happy when they did the month of documentaries, but afterwards, I forgot about Bounce again. After the whole OWN thing, I do appreciate that they are trying. I get that it's tough, but I will appreciate ANYTHING that will knock BET off its roost. Notice how, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, BET is JUST NOW DECIDING to get their programming act together... terrible.

    @Nadine---Wow, that bad?

    Omar is a good start. He's just a natural comedian. ..love him. Patriarch...dang... I think I'm getting old.
