Ava DuVernay's critically-acclaimed feature film, I Will Follow, will make its world TV broadcast premiere on BET, this Friday, October 5, at 8PM ET/PT - a debut timed to happen exactly 1 week before the theatrical opening of Ava's latest film, the Sundance 2012 award-winning drama, Middle Of Nowhere, on Friday, October 12.

By the way, BET also picked up TV broadcast premiere rights to Middle Of Nowhere, as part of its newly-launched BET Premiere Cinema.

I Will Follow chronicles a day in the life of a grieving woman, and the several visitors who help her move forward.

An Official Selection of AFI Fest, Chicago International Film Festival, RiverRun Film Festival and Winner of the Narrative Audience Award at Urbanworld Film Festival, I WILL FOLLOW is a quiet drama that explores the surprising thirst for life we experience after the death of someone we love. Maye is a success. Hot career. Hot boyfriend. But when her world is turned upside down by family tragedy, she must struggle to maintain her balance. I WILL FOLLOW chronicles a day in the life of a woman at a crossroads, and the twelve visitors who help her move into a brave, new world.

It's a film we covered quite well - interviews with cast and crew, reviews of the film, and more. For all of that, and then some, click HERE.

This is good to hear. Seems that she's forming a strong relationship with BET since the hip hop documentary.

To all the writers/filmmakers waiting for Tyler & Oprah to give 'em a hand-out...BAM! Create your OWN path.

Yes. I've been very inspired by Ava DuVernay and Issa Rae lately - proof that it can be done a different way. It's hard to figure out but feels more possible watching these women do the damn thing. I'll be watching I Will Follow and I'll be in line for Middle of Nowhere.

The woman is a marketing genius. Who pulls off stuff like this in the independent universe? I'm learning a lot from watching her campaigns.
