Cast Of 'Scandal' Spoof 'Scandal' As A Telenovela Titled 'Escandalo'

Scandal fans were all euphoric last night, as their favorite TV drama series finally returned to prime-time TV, on ABC, after a lengthy holiday break.

It finished the night as the #2 TV show in Adults 18-49, behind only CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, and pacing well ahead of Fox’s American Idol, which dropped to a new series low for the 2nd week in a row.

Scandal, which aired from 10-11pm, built on its Grey Anatomy’s lead-in, drawing 9.3 million viewers, beating its combined drama competition (CBS’ Elementary and NBC’s Parenthood) by 22% in the hour. It was also up over its winter finale last December in Adults 18-49 (+3%) to equal the series’ 2nd-highest rating ever!

Later on in the evening, star Kerry Washington appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, during which the pair introduced a Spanish-language spoof of Scandal titled Escandalo, which featured not only Washington, but some of her fellow Scandal cast members, as well as Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s own Guillermo and Kimmel himself.
