I just read some interesting casting suggestions by Michael Logan, editor-in-chief of Moviephone, in this ABC News article.

The untitled film, directed by Best Movie Oscar winner The Hurt Locker's Kathryn Bigelow, with a screenplay penned by Mark Boal; will chronicle the 10-year search for Osama bin Laden, and already has a tentative release date of Oct. 12, 2012.

Setting side all the latest political controversies surrounding this production, I would like to share some of Logan's casting suggestions with you guys and perhaps discuss our very own here.

Osama bin Laden - John Torturro, Jeff Goldblum, Lebanese actor Tony Shalhoub and even Scottie Pippen's name came up! I never thought of John Torturro. Although this could be a very challenging for him, it seems plausible considering the rest of the choices.

But you never know.....breakthrough first acting role for retired NBA player Scottie Pippen? :-)

President Barack Obama - okay, the article suggests Denzel Washington. It's a given, Washington has the acting chops, but I could see Will Smith in the role, but then I always thought of Smith trying to come up with actors that could play Obama on the screen. *shrugs*

Navy Seals Team- Joel Edgerton has signed on to play the Navy Seal that ultimately kills bin Laden. The other suggestions along with Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Anthony Mackie. I don't know about the others but I definitely hope Mackie is part of this project.

Last but not least, Jeffrey Wright as the one-eyed Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar?? I love Jeffrey Wright, he can do anything in my book but I don't know about this.. hmm..

Check out the rest of the suggestions for Bill Clinton (John Travolta?), Hillary Clinton (Meryl Streep?), Joe Biden and others HERE.

Thoughts?

Well, after seeing John Turturro in "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" I can see him playing Osama Bin Ladin

I think he will be the least controversial choice for that role I don't know, I think a Black man playing him will bring up "issues," whatever they may be....

Does anyone know how many Black men were part of the Navy Seals team that killed Osama?

None of these people will be cast except for maybe Mackie.

    *crying* at Scottie Pippen

    lol

Jeffrey Wright and Harry Lennix - yes, yes, yes.

Besides the obvious Denzel and Will, I think there is NO way this film could cast them as long as Harry Lennix is breathing! This guy has the chops, look, height, and demeanor of Obama. And his voice is very similary.. check him out here --> http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5290896

We already voted that Harry Lennix plays Obama. Somebody call his agent.. :D

I can see John Toturro as Osama and Meryl Streep as Hillary.

    Will Ferrell for George W.

John Travolta as Bill Clinton - noooo.

Let's see if this really happens...We all know that the entire "Story" is BS...Along with the Seal Team being shot down. I read that some of the Seal Team were going to come forward with the real story and they were Killed...

A mainstream movie with so many men of color in leading roles...too bad it's all a lie.

And who's gonna play Osama's mistress? The black one.
