In this latest installment of the S&A Filmmaker Diary Series, writer/director Matthew Cherry continues to enlighten with all his pre-SXSW Film Festival premiere peaks and valleys, with regards to his feature film debut The Last Fall; and by the way, he still needs to funds to complete his Kickstarter campaign in order to cover SXSW trip expenses and post-production costs. As of this posting, he's about 78% funded, needing another roughly $4,000 to reach the campaign goal of $15,000. Last Friday, February 24th, 2012 marked the 6th year since Hugo and Nebula award winner, Octavia Butler, died from a stroke at just 58 years old (she died February 24th, 2006).

Well another Tyler Perry movie is out and and there will be, of course,  his usual supporters and naysayers arguing over the merits or lack thereof of his movies (And for the record let me say that I think he's a bad filmmaker. But I think Michael Bay is too, but no one will jump on me for saying that.) Yet I can't think of another filmmaker who creates more talk or controversy than TP.
