Now Fundraising: House Music Movie – A Documentary

Fundraising via Rucket Hub, the documentary House Music Movie is directed by Muema; who is the Founder of BounceFM.Com, a blog that supports house music. The feature length independent documentary film about house music, dance and global pop culture with a funding goal of $115,000, has been in the works for the last two years. Muema hopes the campaign funds will cover archival footage and final editing/post-production costs in time for a 2012 festival premiere.

As you are well aware the UCLA Film Archive just completed its three month long film festival of movies made by the "L.A. Rebelllion" group of black filmmakers which explored the lasting impact and importance of these films. Several of those films that were screened were reviewed here by Brandon Wilson and Nijla Mumin.

Back in early September Tambay proflied this urban boxing drama Mikel's Faith written, directed and starring Alexander Etseyatse (read HERE) which was presented at the Hell's Kitchen Film Festival in New York City this fall.

Warner Brothers has just released a new clip for the upcoming musical comedy Joyful Noise. Filmed in Georgia and written/directed by Todd Graff, the film tells the story of a "small town choir out to win a national competition despite overwhelming odds. A story of faith and determination by the choir leaders (Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton) and the young talent who give their all to win god's praise and beat the competition for the grand prize."

I'm sure this film doesn't need much of an intro, so I won't bother with one. Here are 2 of its co-stars, Tristan Wilds and Michael B. Jordan giving us a pair of behind-the-scenes video looks at Red Tails, producer George Lucas' Tuskegee Airmen WWII action/drama, directed by Anthony Hemingway.
