Helmed by Sonia Gonzalez-Martinez, the very amusing 8-min film Urban Lullaby, will be featured this month at the first annual International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival at the Poet's Den Theater and Gallery in Spanish Harlem this month. The film stars Tammi Cubilette, Dominic Colón and Frankie Martinez.

Here's a look at the new hostage thriller Special Forces.  The film stars Dianne Kruger (Inglorious Basterds) as a French journalist in Afghanistan who is kidnapped by the Taliban.  Faced with her imminent execution, a Special Forces unit is dispatched to free her.

The documentary series, created by filmmaker Angela Tucker, conveys the phrase “Black folk don’t” as an anecdotal idea and concept based on negative stereotypes. However, the argument is also made that “in some cases, ‘Black folks don’t’ is a statistical fact. Black folk don’t go to the doctor in the numbers they should.”
